What can I expect as an Employee at Ballistic Advantage?

What type of training will l need?
Depending on the position, you may or may not need prior training. Only the willingness to succeed. Not only will you learn about AR 15 barrels and AR replacement parts you are supplied with on the job training from our senior staff that you will use and appreciate the rest of your life.

What pre-job screenings are required to work at Ballistic Advantage?
Since this is the firearms industry, you must have a clean background check and pass a pre-employment drug test prior to employment.

How is my performance evaluated after employment
After completing your 90-day probationary period you will be re-evaluated and compensation adjustments may or may not be awarded. We do personnel evaluations every 90 days that include time-bound goals for personal growth and advancement opportunities for every employee.

Do you offer any incentive pay for outstanding production workers?
Yes, we do. Productivity is monitored throughout the shop and production goals are set per part. If you complete more parts than the goal. You receive a piecework incentive.

Entry level CNC Operator:


EXPERIENCE:

6 months to 1-year machining experience preferred, but a strong mechanical aptitude and eagerness to learn is essential.

Employment term: Regular

Employment term: Full-time

Work Hours:

6:00am - 2:30pm (1st shift)

2:15pm - 10:45pm (2nd shift)

10:30pm - 6:00am (3rd shift)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operates assigned work center (Mazatrol CNC lathes) to current production standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and work from verbal instructions.
  • Ability to learn applicable inspection / measurement equipment: micrometers, calipers etc. as required.
  • Responsible for verification and documentation of part dimensions and tolerances as required for quality.
  • Required to visually inspect parts for surface details and machining finishes with a close attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of general shop math.
  • The ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Responsible for keeping equipment and work area clean and orderly.
  • Provide general upkeep and preventative maintenance on assign work center.
  • Ability to work safely and adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by supervisor.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

High school or equivalent.

CNC Machinist:


EXPERIENCE:

3 to 5 years CNC machining experience with a preference to Mazatrol experienced operators.

2:15pm - 10:45pm (2nd shift)

10:30pm - 6:00am (3rd shift)

  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and work from verbal instructions.
  • Ability to use applicable inspection / measurement equipment: micrometers, calipers etc. as required.
  • Responsible for verification and documentation of part dimensions and tolerances as required for AQL.
  • Required to visually inspect parts for surface details and machining finishes with a close attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of advanced machining shop math.
  • Exceed current productivity standards.
  • The ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Responsible for keeping equipment and work area clean and orderly.
  • Provide general upkeep and preventative maintenance on assign work center.
  • Ability to work safely and adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by supervisor.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

High school or equivalent.

Machine Parts Inspector


BASIC FUNCTION:
To uphold the integrity of our Quality Management system and insure the utmost quality of our production operations and dimensional tolerances in process and at final shipment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a QC inspector in the machining industry.
  • In depth understanding of machining and machining processes.
  • Basic understanding of GD&T tolerancing and blue print reading.
  • Solid grasp of machine shop math.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Minimum high school education or equivalent.

SKILLS and SPECIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge of common inspection and measurement techniques utilizing calipers, micrometers and other precision measuring instruments..
  • Documentation skills including: paperwork organization and handwriting legibility.

DURIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Approves in-process production by confirming operator dimensions through first article approval, AQL spot checks and visual tests; rejecting or approving unacceptable product..
  • Approves finish products by conforming specifications through visual and dimensional tests.
  • Documenting measured results for responsible machining operations at principle check points.
  • Responsible for work order check off at individual operations and completeness / integrity at operation completion.
  • Sign off completed operations prior to order movement to preceding operation; Verify count, operator completeness and MRB verification / documentation.
  • Responsible for Quality Calibration system per QMS (Quality Management System).
