Senior Demand Planner

The Senior Demand Planner is responsible for creating and maintaining the demand plan and all forecasting activities associated with the rifle barrel manufacturing of Ballistic Advantage, LLC. This new position will build forecast information from sales, marketing, finance, advanced analytics, and other sources. Responsible for building a demand plan that fully supports both the business and supply chain strategies.


  • Calculate statistical baseline forecast
  • Review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, develop statistical forecast models, and evaluate forecast results
  • Adopt new tools to improve process and KPI results
  • Analyze and update SKU level demand signal based on trends, models, assumption changes, inputs, etc.
  • Identify areas in need of improvement and create/present recommendations
  • Search for potential solutions both internally and externally
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to implement process improvements
  • Adopt new tools to improve process and KPI results
  • Analyze historical sales and shipment trends to support baseline forecast assumptions
  • Analyze actual sales and emerging trends in comparison to forecasts
  • Monitor orders vs. estimates on a monthly basis, responding to exceptions with collaborative discussions and addressing monthly plan revisions accordingly
  • Identify key issues which require immediate escalation to Sales and/or Operations as required
  • Identifies and resolves out of stock issues, focusing on minimizing shortage occurrences through analysis of data and review of min/max levels
  • Utilize a collaborative and consensus approach by working with Sales, Marketing and Finance to obtain and ensure that current and accurate information is used for demand forecasts
  • Provide input in developing inventory strategies on existing items, new products, and product phase-outs
  • Produce reports that facilitate a continuous analysis of actual sales and emerging trends in comparison to forecasts


  • Bachelor's Degree preferably in Supply Chain Management or related field
  • Previous manufacturing experience highly preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in supply chain / inventory planning or comparable planning/analytical role
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in the planning department
  • Ability to influence vendors and key stakeholders independently
  • Ability to mentor others
  • Ability to recommend and implement suggested improvements in the department
  • Ability to forecast, analyze,and prepare statistical data and metrics/li>
  • Ability to manage/mine data from multiple sources to create necessary reports and databases
  • Prior demand planning systems experience
  • Proficiency with MS Office a must, strong Excel skills required
  • Strong analytical skills with keen attention to detail
